About the website
As a transplanted Yorkshire Rose from Rotherham to Canada for more than forty years, I began to wonder about other transplanted Roses - going back to the 1600s in America and elsewhere.
We Yorkshire folk are proud of our heritage and of being known as straighforward, hardworking, reliable, trustworthy etc.
This foundation has stood us well as we have been challenged over the centuries and this has come shining through in the virgin land of America - the New World and colonising lands known as the Commonwealth.
There is great deal of information in books and online about these adventurers but they have never been gathered together in one place, at least I don't think so.
So we are gathering them together in one garden, so that we can be proud of them and remember them and say "well done, lads and lasses!"
