Hunter

William HUNTER was born 1844 in Harwood Dale near Scarborough, Yorkshire. He emigrated with his parents, John and Elizabeth (Nee Wardell) and 6 siblings to Ohio, then the family moved on to Indiana. William settled in Stafford Township where he married widow Drusilla Stafford (Nee Jamison) and they had 2 sons. William was a brick mason by trade but he became involved in milling flour with one of his brothers. The Hunter Grist Mill and Saw Mill was built by him and his brother Frank, about 1874. Together they owned 200 acres of good land.
